ENERGY SAVING THROUGH QUALIFIED PROFESSIONALS FOR EFFICIENT HEATING SYSTEMS

ENERGY SAVING THROUGH QUALIFIED PROFESSIONALS FOR EFFICIENT HEATING SYSTEMS
BACKGROUND:
Mongolia is characterized by extreme climatic conditions with temperatures below minus 40°C in winter and above 40°C in the summer. This extreme temperatures and long winters between October throughout April, make a functioning heat supply essential for life. As the demand for thermal energy has increased continuously in recent years, but the supply has stagnated, cities like Ulaanbaatar are facing immense challenges. The old inefficient and often mis-dimensioned heat distribution and heating systems lead to high energy losses, enormous emissions, and a poor indoor climate in buildings (overheated or hypothermic in winter).
There is a need to widely use modern climate-friendly control and regulation technology, including pump systems and improve specialists knowledge on how to install, operate and maintain high efficiency heating systems and make such trainings available.
The project is brought forward by WILO SE and GIZ GmbH in the framework of develoPPP.de program of the Federal Ministry of Economic Cooperation and Development (BMZ).
OBJECTIVE:
To make Mongolian heating system more efficient and save energy through introducing environmentally friendly, modern technologies and train current and future skilled workers via TVET.
