Career Bridge USA–Germany
A Pathway from Education to Career
The Career Bridge is an innovative exchange program for motivated students at U.S. high schools who are in the process of career orientation and have an interest in technical fields, skilled trades, or engineering. The goal of the program is to connect talented students with basic German language skills to the German vocational education and training (VET) system – especially the internationally recognized dual education model.
What is the Career Bridge?
This unique program offers students the opportunity to:

expand their German language skills,

experience and use German in a professional context,

gain first-hand insights into the German dual education system.
A highlight of the program is a 10-day practical trip to Germany July 09.-19., 2025 . The program is supported by innovative learning modules, career-oriented language training, and individual guidance from the Goethe-Institut USA and the Handwerk stiftet Zukunft Foundation.
Program Components in Germany
During the trip to Germany, participants will experience:

Company visits and job-shadowing days tailored to their personal interests

Visits to vocational schools and a comprehensive introduction to the dual education system

Exchanges with German students, apprentices, and young professionals through joint activities

A diverse cultural and leisure program in Berlin

24/7 support and supervision from experienced staff

Group accommodation with onsite supervision
Language Requirements
A solid A1 level of German is required at the start of the program.
Students with intermediate knowledge (A2/B1) are also strongly encouraged to apply.

Through preparatory workshops in the U.S. and the practical experience in Germany, participants gain:
